A simple bawdy story of disguise, desire, deceit and stupidity. The action takes place over a 24 hour period and tells about the overwhelming desire of a young man for the virtuous young wife of an older and foolish lawyer. With the help of his servant, a fixer, the young wife's mother and her confessor he eventually make her his lover. With each character believing that he or she has outwitted the next, all are happy with the outcome despite the use of deception.
