The Inferno Show    Machiavelli The Prince of Comedy is a revisionist view of the man and his most important work The Prince. Combining serious interviews with politicians, academics, historians, authors and business leaders together with comic interviews with historical figures who claimed to be influenced by The Prince.

Like in his dream the series sees Machiavelli ‘living’ in Dante’s Inferno, realised as a suburban hell we know as Solihell. Existing on a diet of daytime TV he comments on interviews with those, both living and dead, featured on a weekly TV magazine programme ‘The Inferno Show’, presented by Helen of Troy.

Machiavelli was a man full of contradictions, awash in paradoxes and inconsistencies. The term ‘Machiavellian’ is synonymous with treachery but the man himself has enjoyed a reputation of extreme views and The Prince of wildly divergent opinion, admired and despised in equal measure. Oliver Cromwell owned a manuscript, a copy accompanied Napoleon to Waterloo. Adolf Hiller claimed to keep a copy on his bedside table. Mafia bosses Carlo Gambino and John Gotti were avid students, as was Republican Party Consultant Lee Atwater and the late rap artist, Tupac Shakur.

Excerpts of interviews will be included in the show with the full-length interviews available on an accompanying web site, creating a powerful educational and academic resource.
